Free Trips for Non-Profits

Boston Harbor Islands Partnership offers free ferry tickets for youth and community non-profit organizations to Spectacle, Georges, and Peddocks Islands through the Island Pass program.

Want to bring your group to the islands for free?

Free trips are available May to September (mostly for weekday travel) and are awarded a first-come first-served needs basis. Groups should apply for travel dates at least two weeks in advance, and allow 7 business days for determination. Space is limited, and trips are popular.

Each trip begins at Long Wharf-North Pier, where groups board the park ferry to either Georges Island or Spectacle Island. Groups headed to Peddocks Island will need to transfer to a smaller ferry at Georges Island (suggested for groups of fewer than 25). Lunch and ground transportation to and from the pier is not included, so please plan accordingly.

Once on the Islands, the group can enjoy spectacular views of the harbor as they explore historic Fort Warren on Georges, enjoy the hiking trails and swimming beach on Spectacle, or meander through Fort Andrews on Peddocks. Youth looking for a challenge can become official Junior Rangers. Take a ranger-led tour, or participate in a special program or event that is offered that day.
